May 18, 2015

A FAKE DIPLOMA: A university degree, yours at just the click of a button? No, that’s not the latest MOOC college partnership. Yes, it’s too good to be true.

Karachi, Pakistan-based Axact makes millions each month by selling non-accredited degrees online, costing from $350 for high school diplomas to over $4,000 for doctoral degrees. As detailed by The New York Times, some of Axact’s customers are aware of the scam—but others are unaware of the accreditation process. Since The New York Times feature on Axact, the company has denied the claims of fake accreditation.
