White House Announces Official Date of Superintendents' Summit

Nov 13, 2014

HEAR YE, HEAR YE: Today, the White House announced the official date for the "Future Ready" Superintendents' Summit, referred to now as the "ConnectED to the Future" convening. Next Wednesday, November 19, over one hundred superintendents will join President Obama and other educators from across the country to discuss education, technology, and the Future Ready Pledge, a blended learning pledge that launched in September 2014. To continue the momentum of the pledge, President Obama will host a "digital pledge signing" ceremony during the Summit, where the present superintendents will formally sign the pledge on tablets and be joined virtually by other superintendents from around the United States.

UPDATE: On Friday, November 14, the White House published the list of 118 attendees for the Summit, which includes Houston Independent School District's Terry Grier, Pam Moran from Albemarle County Public Schools, and New York City Public Schools' Dorita Gibson.
