Blackboard to Stop Support for Angel LMS in 2016

Nov 2, 2014

FALLEN ANGEL: It's open season in the LMS market, and providers not named Blackboard ought to take note. The company will cease to support Angel, a learning management system it acquired in 2009, on Oct. 15, 2016. According to LMS analyst George Kroner, some 180 higher-ed institutions currently use Angel. Blackboard has put up a "Life After Angel" site to entice them switch to Blackboard; so far, one-quarter to one-third of them made the transition. Inside Higher Ed retraces the history of Angel here.
