Aug 12, 2014

PACKBACK: $1 million to Chicago, IL-based Packback, which includes $250K from Mark Cuban on TV show, Shark Tank (where co-founder Kasey Gandham famously counter-offered with $50K less than what Cuban offered), along with funding from The 20 Million Minds Foundation and 20 other angel investors. Founded in 2013, Packback offers a growing collection 3,000 digital textbooks in 21 subjects that students can rent for $3-$5 per title per 24-hour period. The company claims over 15,000 users in more than 80 U.S. college campuses. More details from The Wall Street Journal.
