THE GAME OF LEARNING: Games can advance literacy, according to theoretical linguistics researcher (and GBL kingpin) James Paul Gee. In a recent interview with Mindshift, Gee explains that “understanding oral and written language involves essentially running video-game like simulations in our heads,” and similar things can be said around gaming as a means of teaching kids how to deep-read, think and process.
