Google and Carnegie Mellon University Aim to Combat MOOC Attrition Rate

Jun 27, 2014

TURN ON, TUNE IN, DON’T DROP OUT: Google and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) are teaming up to combat high student drop-out rates in MOOCs, reports Venture Beat. The initiative, sponsored by Google with $300,000, aims to personalize the MOOC experience through evaluation, increase the sense of community, and make course work more interactive. “Ninety percent of people that sign up for MOOCs never finish the course,” said CMU professor Robert Kraut.
