Report Examines Teacher Evaluation Systems From Seven California Districts

Jun 2, 2014

EVALUAT-ED: How do teachers evaluate their own evaluations? According to a report from The Education Trust-West, 80% of teachers agree they receive valuable feedback on instructional practice, while only 62% agree professional development addresses their individual needs, and only 52% agree they had input into the teacher evaluation system used to assess their performance. The report is a culmination of survey results from 1,000 educators in seven different districts across California, including Oakland Public Schools, Los Angeles Unified, Green Dot Public Schools, Aspire, and Summit. It also includes case studies on teacher evaluation systems in these districts.
