CHANNEL ONE NEWS: Acquired for an undisclosed sum by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Founded in 1989, Channel One News broadcasts daily news programs via TV and the web to nearly five million K-12 students across the U.S. According to the press release, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt made the deal to boost its library of Common Core-aligned non-fiction content and "bring significant video and cross-media production capabilities in-house."
