Avaz Raises $550K to Help Autistic Children Communicate

AVAZ: $550K to Avaz in a seed round led by Invenus Capital and Mumbai Angels, with Rajan Anandan and Raju Reddy also participating. The startup, with offices in Palo Alto and Chennai (India), offers a picture-based communication app designed to help autistic children develop language skills. Avaz founder, Ajit Narayanan, explains in this TED talk about how it works. TechCrunch reports the app has been gaining traction in non-English speaking countries like Denmark and Italy.
