TakeLessons Raises $7M

TAKELESSONS: $7 million to San Diego-based TakeLessons in a round led by Lightbank, in Chicago. Other existing investors that participated were Crosslink Capital, SoftTech VC, and Triangle Peak Partners. Moore Venture Partners also joined the round. Altogether TakeLessons has raised $20 million in funding. On TakeLessons, people find private instructors who teach in-person and online lessons. Among the most popular uses include finding instructors for singing, algebra, film acting, guitar and Spanish. The company was started in 2006. Students and teachers use the platform to schedule lessons, paying for lessons and share reviews of teachers. Here's the press release.
