LA Unified Officials Cannot Access iPad Curriculum

LA Unified Officials Cannot Access iPad Curriculum

Feb 7, 2014

THE CONE OF SILENCE: The Cone of Shame could be a fitting metaphor for what's going on in Los Angeles Unified. In its ongoing coverage of the district's iPad rollout issues, the Los Angeles Times now reports that school officials currently cannot legally view the full curriculum that Pearson has developed for the iPads. Because the publisher is currently bidding on a separate contract with LA Unified to provide content for laptops, the "Cone of Silence" rule, which limits the district from having contact with the bidder in order to ensure a level playing field, is in effect. It could be months before the Sound of Silence is over.
