Students Share Frustration at School IT Policies

Jan 21, 2014

CANDID ANSWERS: Researchers at Harvard's Berkman Center for Internet & Society sat down with over 200 students for focus interviews and recorded their candid frustration with school IT policies. From one student: “Often, school websites that we have to use for homework are blocked...Like, Khan Academy, which we use for math, ends up getting blocked because it uses Facebook to log in.” The report ends with practical questions like: Should school policies be created in collaboration with the students? This is one of three reports that Berkman released last week as part of its Student Privacy Initiative.
