ADD TO YOUR VOCAB: The attention on MOOCs has overshadowed other promising innovations in higher education. This report from UK-based Open University, one of the oldest distance learning and research institutions in the world, looks at MOOCs and nine other trends that "are already in currency but have not yet had a profound influence on education." Among the new terms to add to the edu-vocabulary list are "seamless learning," "lifelogging," and "citizen inquiry." The report also predicts the timescale to adoption, making it read a bit like the UK's version of the New Media Consortium's annual Horizon Report.
