ISTE13: GameDesk's 'Educade' Focuses on Fun and Games

Jun 25, 2013

MORE PLAY LESS TEST PREP: GameDesk, known for its unique model of research and game development, launched its latest project, Educade at ISTE13 this week.

Educade is website containing dozens of lessons and activities straight out of the Playmaker School and the GameDesk lab. Lessons and activities are searchable by subject, grade level, and tool types such as games, apps, role play, and even simulation type activities.

So what makes Educade unique in among the vast array of websites aggregating lesson plans? It's about engagement.

Most lesson plan sites are built around preparing students to pass tests. By contrast, Educade organizes its content around lessons that are highly engaging, says Playmaker teacher, AJ Webster. On the site, users can tag lessons to “use” or “like”, as well as create backpacks filled with lessons focusing on a particular theme or subject.

Will teachers find this fun? Let us know!
