Microsoft's 10,000 Surface Give Away

Jun 13, 2013

MICROSOFT TO GIVE FREE SURFACES TO 10,000 TEACHERS AT ISTE: This is big: Microsoft just agreed to give 10,000 Surfaces to teachers who are registered at ISTE 2013 before June 18 (Tuesday).

How do you get a device if you're registered for ISTE? Start by putting your name in here at this online site: http://WICExperience.itnint.com. You will also have to get a school official and/or ethics officer sign a gift acknowledgement letter provided by Microsoft and bring it to ISTE conference.

Of the approximately 20,000 people expected to attend ISTE, as many as 13,000 will likely be teachers.

“This bold move is illustrative of Microsoft’s commitment to the effective use of technology in education," said Brian Lewis, ISTE CEO, in a statement. "It’ll be fantastic to watch attendees take their conference learning experience to the next level through the power of their new Surfaces and to hear about the ways they use them with their students.

Microsoft also plans to offer hands-on support for learning to use Surface devices in its Microsoft Learning Lounge during the conference.
