Microsoft Donates $1M to Support Blended Learning in D.C.

CITYBRIDGE FOUNDATION: $1 million to D.C.-based nonprofit, CityBridge Foundation, in the form of a three-year grant (PDF) from Microsoft to support the CityBridge-NewSchools Innovation Fellowship, a one-year program that trains teachers to lead and design blended learning pilots at their respective schools. Twelve teachers participated in the program's inaugural year. The new funding will help double the number of teachers each year with a focus on STEM subjects, according to the Washington Post.
