Company Overview

BrainCo is a brain-machine interface company specializing in education and healthcare. Our first product, Focus, helps improve student engagement in the classroom and attention abilities at home by measuring and encouraging certain brainwave patterns. BrainCo received a multi-million dollar, 20,000 unit pre-order this year. Drawing experience from top tier advisors, including the Dean of the Harvard Graduate School of Education, we have created a launchpad for changing the education technology market. After a $5m seed round and with a $20m series A underway, we are looking for a VP of Sales to lead our expansion in the education market and other markets. We’re positioned for growth in both China and the USA. Our USA office (20 team members) is located less than a mile away from Harvard Yard in Somerville, MA. BrainCo is expanding their product offerings beyond education. Experience in wearable technology, consumer electronics, or medical devices is desirable for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Work across departments to create strategies that will push our business goals and sales objectives forward
  • Create a go-to-market strategy and sales plan
  • Add to our culture of continuous development, achievement, and collaboration
  • Manage the sales teams, operations and resources to deliver growth
  • Attract and develop talented sales team through leadership and reputation
  • Create and coordinate training that enable staff to achieve their potential
  • Manage customers and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Define and iterate on processes that drive sales outcomes
  • Put in place infrastructure and systems to support the success of the sales team
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting
  • Compile information and data related to customer and prospect interactions
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions
  • Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships

Experience:

  • Successful experience building a go-to-market strategy and corporate sales plan
  • Successful experience building and growing a channel
  • Successful experience selling education products, with education technology preferred (additional markets of interest are wearable technology, consumer electronics, and medical devices)
  • Successful experience monitoring and evaluating sales rep progress against stated expectations, in addition to aligning and changing behavior with performance expectations
  • Experience managing key customer relationships and closing strategic opportunities
  • Successful experience utilizing a CRM to manage team sales tasks, pipeline, and closing data
  • Successful experience hiring and onboarding sales representatives
  • Proven experience working within a startup or high growth environment
  • Demonstrated ability in all aspects of sales leadership
