About the Design & Analysis Division

The Design and Analysis Division aims to demonstrate a better way of doing school--one that is far better positioned to give any student, regardless of starting point, an educational foundation for lifelong success. We do this through curricular innovation, leadership in learning analytics and the development of models and tools that enable personalization and impact at scale.

We are a cross-disciplinary team of relentlessly optimistic, ambitiously creative, solution-oriented problem solvers who collaborate to uncover and develop new scalable ways to enable our school partners to consistently drive student impact.

About the Role

The VP Academic Innovation applies research, design, development and implementation expertise in the creation and iteration of cutting edge education strategies and techniques to enable innovative curriculum design, learning practices and personalization in scalable and replicable across a wide variety of diverse contexts.This role will help develop and fostering a culture of innovation across the organization.

Initially in partnership with the Chief Program Officer the VP will play a critical leadership role for the Design and Analysis Division -- with the longer term vision of leading the division. This role provides a unique opportunity for a highly entrepreneurial instructional innovator to help design and realize new classroom models that meet every student where they are and helps them to realize their full potential.

  • You lead by listening and are highly collaborative, enabling those you partner with (internally and external to the org) to become more than the sum of their parts by fostering positive and productive relationships.
  • You productively contribute your opinions to critical decision making processes but when someone else has decision rights you are able to support and champion decisions you may not have made.
  • You mentor others, sharing freely of your knowledge and productively pushing the practices of those you work with and manage.

What Would You Do

  • Lead the effort to design new pedagogical and curricular strategies, including directing innovative curriculum and assessment design, development and acquisition.
  • Partner with the Chief Program Officer to oversee the Program Framework team to create and pilot new features and strategies to adapt the existing Teach To One: Math program as well as to develop new programs and offerings in the future.
  • Coordinate with the Data Solutions team to design inquiries that deepen our knowledge of what strategies impact what outcomes for students
  • Supporting the implementation of the program by providing guidance to the program delivery teams to ensure that our implementation support of Teach To One: Math is aligned with the very latest academic strategies
  • Actively engage with industry counterparts to stay up with the very latest developments and to contribute to relevant partnerships and conversations
  • Develop and evolve academic, social emotional and other non-academic student success metrics
  • Partner with cross-functional program leadership to collaboratively drive a path forward for the evolution of Teach To One: Math

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of 8 year's classroom experience as an innovative educator with a significant track record of designing and implementing innovative strategies for driving student outcomes (academic and non-academic)
  • Deep knowledge of instructional content and assessment practices and standards
  • Educational experience working with schools and districts outside of the classroom developing and implementing innovative new practices and approaches with a track record of helping an organization realize its full potential through innovation
  • Graduate degree/s in education
  • Embody New Classrooms’ Core Operating Principles
