About the Role 

Better Future Forward (BFF) is seeking an experienced, Vice President, Programs and Partnerships to lead the growth and management of its Opportunity ISA (Income Share Agreement) Program, which includes the program development, delivery, and outcomes, and college success partner management. The Vice President, Programs and Partnerships will be thoroughly committed to the organization’s strategy and mission and have an unwavering attentiveness to quality programs. You are a self-driven collaborator who leads with integrity, innovation, operational excellence, and great customer service. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will work in close collaboration with the Founder & CEO and Vice President, Advancement, and supervise a Programs team of dedicated Student Advisors.

Duties and Responsibilities

ProgramDevelopment, Management, and Leadership

  • Establish and execute ambitious goals forBetter Future Forward’s Opportunity ISA program, including growing the organization’s student reach, reaching goals around college graduation rates, student experience, and servicing outcomes, and building a program that our students and partners understand and trust
  • Lead improvement of both the technical and service delivery aspects of the Opportunity ISA program
  • Maintain oversight and enforcement of product policies and procedures
  • Lead efforts to elevate student perspectives and experiences in the design and delivery of organization’s program
  • Ensure programmatic excellence through equitable and inclusive service to participating students and partners
  • Develop systems and strategies that enable Programs team to innovate and operate effectively and efficiently to meet organization performance metrics
  • Attract, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing Programs team
  • Collaborate with Vice President, Advancement to identify and develop resources that ensure organization’s funders and supporters clearly understand and get excited about the organization’s program impact
  • Collaborate with Founder & CEO to support higher education finance policy and advocacy initiatives, and ensure financial aid product compliance
  • Work with finance to monitor and track Program funds budgeting and allocation

Program Outcomes and Impact Reporting

  • Identify and define key program success metrics (quantitative and qualitative) that clearly show alignment between the organization’s stated mission and program outputs and outcomes
  • Consistently collect, monitor, and analyze key program data to measure and track defined success metrics to make informed program decisions; and appropriately and regularly report out to key stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Develop the systems, processes, and tools to better support the collection and sharing of program and impact data

Partnership Management

  • Cultivate relationships with a portfolio of 5 – 10 college success partner leaders, keeping them informed, excited, and invested in the success of our students and program
  • Lead a college partnership strategy that vets high-quality postsecondary programs and supports students in making the best fit college enrollment choices for themselves
  • Collaborate with Advancement team to develop and implement an annual partner outreach and retention strategy aligned to program goals
  • Collaborate with Advancement and Program team to create dynamic and engaging presentations and other programmatic impact-sharing opportunities
  • Use project management and customer relationship management tools to optimize partnership management process

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Authenticity, cultural competence, and belief in Better Future Forward’s mission
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years professional experience, including program and/or product management leadership
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement and operationalizing complex, outcomes-based programs
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills coupled with genuine interest in connecting with various audiences from diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to persuade and influence others
  • Ability to make decisions and lead through ambiguity
  • Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and motivate a team of staff and consultants
  • Understanding of higher education finance or financial products, a plus

Salary Range: $130-$145K


Benefits include a flexible work environment; qualified small employer health reimbursement arrangement (QSEHRA); employee-sponsored retirement plan with company match; 30 days paid time off policy, plus 14 holidays; parental leave; tech and home office stipend; and work-issued laptop with data plan.
