Vice President, Product Management (Data Science and Analytics)

The Vice President, Product Management (Data Science and Analytics) is a strategic role and a unique opportunity to be a part of a small and growing company at a pivotal time in the Education Technology Industry. DreamBox is a pioneer in Adaptive learning. As the Vice President, Product Mgmt. of Data Science and Analytics, you will be responsible for harnessing millions of data points to drive personalized learning outcomes. This is a strategic role that enables the entire organization. You will play a unique role in driving innovation in Education Technology by using state-of-the-art data and analytics capabilities to serve educators and learners.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Developing a long-term strategic vision for our Data Science, Analytics, and Product Management groups
• Designing, building, and delivering innovative Enterprise Data strategies, enabling consistent, trustworthy, and available data across the entire organization.
• Developing DBL’s data storage, privacy, and security product strategy.
• Partnering with leadership teams across research and product organizations to forge and strengthen a data-inspired culture where we are bringing innovative data insights into the key decisions for product success.
• Leading a team of technical Product managers, business analysts, and data scientists
• Establishing a unified 360 view of our customers, partners, and business
• Collaborating with our Data Engineering Teams to drive best practices, and enable personalized experiences for our customers
• Consulting with IT Security leadership to maintain and execute a strategy for data governance, privacy, and security across data assets for our Data &Analytics platforms.
• Providing analytical tools and data products that empower our organization to execute effectively while striving for full data democratization.

About You:

• 10+ years of experience leading and developing product and analytics strategies in mid-to-large-scale companies
• 10+ years of experience leading high-performing product and data science teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Analytics (MBA preferred)
• Proven experience building products that leverage data and analytics at scale within an agile environment
• Extensive and up-to-date knowledge of standard data-related technologies and data engineering concepts, as well as best-practices
• 5+ years experience with complex data analysis (model creation, what-if scenarios, A/B testing, etc.)
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and business judgment. Ability to prioritize and focus the Product and Engineering teams on critical outcomes
• 2+ years extensive work experience with SQL, Tableau, Python, and Excel
• Excellent communication skills, ability to present to peers, executive leadership to inform and influence strategy across the organization.
• Excellent verbal and written skills to articulate product strategy and vision.
