A-List Education / Testive is a combined learning, test preparation, and college advising company delivering one-on-one instruction and adaptive learning technology to schools, non-profits, and students at all levels across the US.

A-List is dedicated to bringing innovation and equity to education. We work with families, schools, school districts and nonprofit institutions to provide solutions tailored to meet specific learning, assessment, and curriculum needs with the ultimate goal of improving college access and readiness. A-List offers synchronous and asynchronous instruction, materials, and professional development to students and educators in more than 800 schools nationwide.

Testive is a 100% Digital Adaptive Learning Assessment that includes a curriculum of customized questions served up by an AI algorithm using Item Response Theory--the same assessment methodology used by the SAT and ACT. Students practice on 90-minute or full-length tests. Testive combines ed tech with live coaching in order to accelerate learning and exam preparation.

A-List acquired Testive in August 2020, and is in the process of integrating the teams to offer a broad range of scalable tools to better serve a wider audience of learners and test takers.


With the primary responsibility of generating revenue from existing and new business, the Vice President of Retail Sales and Student Success will oversee the retail business of A-List Education and Testive, both of which are dedicated to providing students with access to high school, undergraduate, and graduate school admissions through its test prep solutions.

This is a US-based remote position that reports to the CEO, serves as a member of the company’s leadership team, and is expected to participate in strategy setting, planning, and decision making around short, medium and long-term goals.

Key components of this role include:

  • work in close collaboration with marketing and product teams to grow retail sales of Testive and A-List products and services (increase referrals and reach new customers);
  • listen to the market, and proactively shape a go-to-market strategy for new retail products that anticipate and solve today’s challenges in education;
  • direct the integration of the A-List and Testive sales and customer service teams;
  • partner with marketing to create, own, and optimize a retail funnel;
  • create a cross-promotional strategy based on opportunities;
  • manage a distributed team from both Testive and A-List, and
  • work alongside senior leadership to develop the future vision of the combined entity in today’s evolving landscape.

We are looking for a dynamic and engaging team member who has prior experience managing a distributed team and selling solutions to clients.

Job Description:

  • Develop and execute an annual business plan in conjunction with senior leadership, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, which will focus the department on meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Monitor progress against goals using Zoho One, CRM.
  • Manage and develop team members.
  • Assist current team in identifying and maximizing sales opportunities within their existing book of business; develop junior team members.
  • Identify, pursue and close new business opportunities.
  • Sell consultatively and demonstrate the strong product knowledge necessary to make thoughtful recommendations to prospective clients.
  • Participate and/or lead strategic brainstorming sessions.
  • Understand and monitor the marketplace, including competitors’ offers and successes.
  • Develop and represent the voice of A-List and Testive’s retail products and services.
  • Represent A-List at conferences, industry events, and business meetings.
  • Demonstrate strong collaborative skills with peers within the department and across business lines.


  • College degree
  • 7+ years of prior experience setting goals, managing teams and selling
  • Experience in the Education services preferred
  • Experience managing distributed teams
  • Self-motivated professional with natural problem-solving capabilities and a positive mindset
  • Superb communication skills and engaging presence, at ease presenting to diverse groups, leading meetings, and inspiring teams

Compensation for this remote position is a base salary + commission.
