About the Team

The District & School Partnerships department is responsible for ensuring the health of district and school partnerships through the coordination of support activities to schools, of engagement with districts, and connections between home office and the field. The team will partner with field support staff and school staff to align on and execute strategic priorities in pursuit of shared outcomes and also build and maintain key stakeholder relationships in pursuit of district partnership goals.

About the Role

In addition to serving on the New Classrooms Leadership Team, the Vice President, District & School Partnerships will provide the vision, mentorship, and coaching to the District and School Partnerships team and serve as an initial escalation point for larger challenges that arise in schools and districts. The VP will partner with Growth & Expansion team in order to align on and execute strategic priorities in pursuit of district growth outcomes and the Regional Fundraising teams in order to align on and execute strategic priorities related to district engagement in pursuit of regional fundraising goals.

Strategy

  • Identify overall strategy for deepening engagement with district, school and local community partners including approach for:
  • Regular reporting on progress and results of TTO implementation in district schools, including:

- deepening an understanding of student outcomes and associated date - highlighting progress and barriers to successful implementation - recommended changes in the strategy or execution at a given school

  • Positioning NC as a critical thought partner in executing personalized learning to help guide optimal conditions for school adoption of TTO and student outcomes and to advise on matters related to innovation and personalization more broadly
  • Deepening relationships in Districts with all key stakeholders to ensure continuity of and expansion of partnership with the district
  • Community engagement with school boards, parent constituents, local funders and other parties to create a sense of ownership and excitement for a given local implementation
  • Consult and provide guidance to regional partnership/account managers around regional district and school-specific strategies for engagement

Team Management

  • Lead and develop a team of regional partnership/account managers responsible for shepherding a portfolio of school and and district partners with the goal of optimizing the implementation of TTO and retention of healthy school partnerships
  • Streamline processes across and between DSP, Growth and Expansion and Program Delivery ensuring a:

- successful transition from the sales cycle to implementation to ongoing partnership management - healthy and appropriate level of alignment and coordination within portfolio teams - coordinated effort across regional portfolios in alignment with overall partnership management strategy

Partnership/Account Management

  • Manage a portfolio of key district relationships, partnering with regional account managers to coordinate and align strategy and efforts
  • Lead key critical district meetings
  • Cultivate and develop key relationships with Superintendents, Academic Officers, and other relevant key district/community stakeholders with goal to sustaining and deepening partnerships and creating ambassadors for TTO within the district and community
  • Serve as a thought partner on personalized learning and student outcomes
  • Serve as a leading contributor during the vetting process with critical district partnership opportunities
  • Serve as point of escalation for critical conversations with district and school stakeholders nationwide

Org Leadership

  • Serve as a member of the New Classrooms Leadership Team in order to: steward organizational wide health, provide strategic input, ensure organizational awareness and launch specific org-wide efforts

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Strong leadership capacity with 10+ years of relevant experience in K-12 education
  • Significant experience setting a vision for impact and managing a team towards ambitious goals
  • Experience, comfort, and demonstrated success building relationships and influencing policy in a variety of diverse district/school settings
  • Experience leading and/or implementing programs (preferably including a component of implementing technology) requiring a high degree of change management
  • Strong critical thinking and planning skills coupled with goal setting and strategic planning experience
  • Ability to operate with purpose, urgency, and accuracy in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Natural tendency toward innovative and creative problem solving
  • Comfort working in a highly collaborative start-up/entrepreneurial work environment
  • Ability to build strong relationships and motivate a diverse team to meet ambitious goals
  • Exceptional influencing, storytelling, and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% time
