The Role:

We’re seeking a self-starter to join Course Hero as a Tutor Operations Associate. As an early member of our newly formed Tutor Operations team, you will be working on all aspects of our growing tutor community. Our team’s mission is to build a strong operational foundation upon which a high-quality and engaged tutoring community can grow, while in parallel building and strengthening a recruitment and onboarding process that is scalable and meets the demands of the Q&A platform.

As part of the team, you will identify channels to source high-quality tutor candidates, effectively screen and evaluate their applications, onboard, and support them as they work on the platform. You’ll be responsible for working with Product Managers and other stakeholders to identify the tutor acquisition needs for the platform. You’ll track the effectiveness and efficiency of different strategies you use, and you’ll constantly work on optimizing process.

This role is a great opportunity to continually expand upon comprehensive Business Operations experience. You will have the unique opportunity to plot the course as part of a newly formed team and learn in a collaborative environment. This role will be fast-paced and ever changing as Course Hero continues to grow.

Here are some ways you’ll make an impact:

  • You’ll investigate and define the best sources for high-quality tutors across the globe.
  • You’ll help define and manage the application process for prospective tutors, identifying patterns that lead to long term quality, and modify acceptance requirements according to business needs.
  • You’ll work with stakeholders to define and measure the appropriate skills for tutors of varying subjects and skill levels.
  • You’ll monitor and implement tools to assist new tutors and ensure their transition onto the platform is successful.
  • You’ll review tutor performance, and be the liaison who manages any vendors to ensure our tutors provide accurate and high quality explanations.

Are you our star Tutor Operations Associate?

  • You have at least 1-2 years of relevant operations experience in a tech/start-up environment. Preferably, you have experience identifying skilled candidates, onboarding and training, and working with on-demand workforce.
  • You've earned a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • You’re proficient with Google Apps, spreadsheets for data analysis, and surveys/forms.
  • You are able to effectively multi-task, assist with a wide array of ongoing projects, and you have a bias for action.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You’re persuasive, high-energy, and are able to make connections with people across the globe.

Bonus Points:

  • You have industry experience related to education.
  • You have a background in marketing or business development.
  • You have experience working in an international capacity.
