Better World Ed - New York or Remote - Full time

Better World Ed ( is a global “curriculum integration” that brings SEL and academics to life, and brings both together. Our wordless videos and short stories help students immerse in math, reading, and writing through learning about diverse cultures and perspectives around the world.

We call this "Global SEL": Global Social & Emotional Learning. 

Timing has never been better for this role: we’ve now got a library of over 45 SEL videos (paired with 150+ stories and lesson plans) that can also help educators teach almost any Grade 1-6 math concept. And we've just launched a new platform to make the user experience more beautiful and seamless. Now it's time to deepen our capacity, scale, and impact. That's where you come in.



  1. Sales & Fundraising: Engage school networks/districts, philanthropists, foundations, social enterprises, parents, and CSR teams in sponsoring more schools to be able to use Better World Ed in their classrooms. In the early days of the role, there will be a heavy focus on sales to schools and networks/districts.
  2. Operations: Support, lead, and grow our team. Build the systems to operate effectively and efficiently as we grow our classroom engagement into the thousands and as we further grow our content creation and curation.
  3. Culture: Curiosity before judgment, humility, awareness, grit, and a deep hunger for learning are some of the ways of being that matter a lot to us. You're going to be supporting in growing a culture that's all about living this vision just like we're encouraging youth to. You'll be bringing team members to classrooms and communities that we work in, too.

  • Are ready to build an organization and movement.
  • Get things done. You're all about execution and you work incredibly hard to make things happen, whether people believe the goal is possible or not.
  • Can sell and fundraise. Really well. You're a brilliant communicator and presenter. 
  • Have significant experience and a passion for growing a startup from 3-5 full time team members to 25+. 
  • Support quickly-adapting environments that don't have the ideal support structure yet and that require autonomous, collaborative, and resilient effort.
  • Hold yourself and others accountable through clear communication and effective goal setting.
  • Have the hard conversations without (much) procrastination and take on the most important goals first, with curiosity and energy. While helping others do the same.
  • Become a humble learner again and again, every single day. You reflect with awareness and adapt with grace and humility.
  • Love unglamorous hard work. We need to know you’ve learned the value of being gritty and resilient through ups and downs. You've got to have a bit of crazy in you to join this kind of environment with joy, and we're looking for that.
