The Program Manager supports Study Smart Tutors’ efforts in maintaining and growing its services to schools, non-profits and college access programs in Northern California. The position will use in-person, email, and phone communication to establish and build relationships with schools, non-profits, and Study Smart Tutors’ internal staff. The Program Manager will be hired in a full-time salaried position headquartered out of the company’s Bay Area office - with the opportunity to work remotely from Northern California - and will report directly to the Northern California Regional Director.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Business Development (50%)

  • Build and maintain relationships with current and new clients
  • Develop additional sales channels
  • Research and investigate new education funding sources
  • Direct regional marketing/social media efforts
  • Attend /coordinate conferences and events

Program Coordination (40%)

  • Coordinate logistics of classes and events
  • Liaise between instructors and program partners
  • Provide client support before/during/after classes
  • Manage regional class and training schedule
  • Collaborate with Instructional team to ensure fidelity of “classroom experience”
  • Other Duties (10%)
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
  • Evaluate instructors through classroom observation and site visits
  • Lead Study Smart student classes and staff trainings as needed


  • Candidate should be passionate about increasing access to higher education for underrepresented students
  • Emphasis will be placed on the candidate’s communication and organization skills
  • Candidate should expect to work on occasional Saturdays and evenings as needed based on instructional calendar
  • Position will involve periodic commuting throughout Northern and Central California


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in program management, coordination, and/or business development preferred
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Communicates effectively and exercises judgment in disclosing or withholding confidential information
  • 2+ years’ experience in non-profits, education, or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and CRM software
  • Willingness to take direction and execute tasks independently
  • Access to a reliable vehicle

Salary and Application Instructions

Full-time salary and benefits commensurate with experience. Salary will include both base and incentive compensation.
