We areseeking a dynamic and skilled instructional leader to serve as aTemporary Director of School Support (DSS) to serve schools acrossthe country virtually.Thisis a unique opportunity for an outcomes-driven educator to enactchange in the classroom through coaching and supporting schoolleaders. The Temporary DSS will work with leaders to build a schoolculture where learning standards, data, high quality curricula, andteacher development are used to achieve breakthrough learning forstudents. The Temporary DSS will be responsible for coaching anddeveloping leadership in aportfolio of up to 12 schools focused on meeting partner needs andsupporting the team's leave coverage. The Temporary DSS will workalongside other peer coaches serving schools across the country andcollaborate regularly with ANet national teams.


Partner with and coach school leaders to strengthen equitableinstruction and increase student achievement

?Serveas an instructional leadership coach for school leaders, inspiringand motivating teams, supporting school-wide change management, andbuilding expertise in standards-based and data-driven instructionand teacher development

?Trainand coach school leaders and teachers on effective backwardsplanning using state standards, complex texts, and curricula toachieve student mastery of grade-level content and addressinglearning loss

?Developschool leaders and teachers on effective use of data from interimassessments to target student misunderstandings and improve teacherpractice

?Analyzestudent data and use research-based practices to inform anindividualized strategy for coaching each school

?Buildand maintain strong relationships with school leaders and teachersthat establish ANet as a key partner in increasing studentachievement

?Workalongside other ANet team members to share learnings with districtteams and strengthen coherence between system and school levelwork

?Designand lead virtual professional development sessions for groups ofschool leaders and teachers to strengthen their understanding ofstandards-based and data-driven instructional bestpractices

Develop a strong network of ANet schools

?Connectschool leaders with other schools to facilitate best practicesharing

?Designand lead professional development sessions for groups of schoolleaders and teachers

?Collaboratewith peer coaches to connect leaders with similar strengths andneeds


Inorder to be successful in this role, candidates must demonstratethe following:

?You are familiar with implementing the Common Core State Standards(CCSS), as ateacher, and/or as an instructional coach.

?You have a demonstrated expertise and interest in professionallearning. Youare knowledgeable and experienced in designing, facilitating andassessing the quality of adult learning experiencesthatresults in changes to practice.

?You are energized by roles where no day will be the same, but whereinstructional excellence is at the heart of everything youdo. You know how to get breakthrough results for kids because you havea proven track record of using standards and data to driveinstruction.

?You have a passionate commitment to and a sense of urgency for thesupport of schools,along with a belief that all students can achieve at high levels.You believe in the power of formative assessment, coaching, andprofessional development as critical levers in schoolimprovement.

?You bring prior experience managing or coaching other adults(e.g.school leadership, instructional coaching, etc.) and know how todevelop and motivate others to drive results, while balancinghumility and assertiveness. Youthrive off building strong relationships, especially when it comesto building trust and credibility quickly.

?You are a learner. Youdon't shy away from new or ambiguous situations, but rather diveright in and seek out opportunities to continuously improve yourskills and expand your impact on kids, while learning from thosearound you.

?You draw others in. Yourability to read and respond to unspoken and implicit cues, and yourengaging presentation skills leave others energized and wanting toknow more.

?You are motivated by working in an environment where we live outour core values daily. ? You have experience coaching teams, leading professionaldevelopment, and/or managing academic programs at adistrict/CMO-level.


This is a temporary, virtual position with a duration of up to 6months and the potential to be extended depending on the needs ofthe team. Position assignments will align with partnership needsand pay is commensurate with experience.
