Technology Manager

The Technology Manager manages Technology Specialist(s), serves as a point person for school site technology needs, and administers network-wide technology systems.

This position is based in Washington State at our schools in Seattle and Tacoma.The Technology Manager reports to the Director of Technology.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide operational and systems leadership by owning and administering high priority technology systems and creating, improving, and documenting team processes and policies to build team capacity. The Technology Manager also serves as our lead software Systems Administrator.
  • Project manage team projects and work collaboratively on projects with cross-functional partners to forward academic/operational goals
  • Understand school site needs and how to translate them into technology solutions across the network
  • Coach technology specialists in tech support, problem identification and resolution, systems administration
  • Provide customized tech support and partnership for executive staff and special events
  • Manage vendor relationships in alignment with organization needs
  • Perform basic and advanced network troubleshooting with minimal support from network team
  • Administer VMware systems and other virtualized environments and help administer Google Apps
  • Serve as a technical point person for all technology related issues at your schools
  • Provide excellent customer service and build relationships with office and school site faculty
  • Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair/warranty all school and office technology equipment (including, but not limited to laptops, projectors, printers, video conferencing equipment, etc.) and software
  • Update and maintain Internet content filtering at school sites
  • Proactively address technology issues at office and school sites, and provide updates to the team about school site activities
  • Support online student learning and assessments at schools

What You’ll Need:

  • Commitment to uphold Summit’s values, belief that all children deserve a rigorous and equitable education that prepares them for college and for life
  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 - 5 years of related working experience in systems administration, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to devices such as computers, printers, networks, and smartphones
  • Ability to troubleshoot technology issues, especially within the Windows 7/10 environment and the ChromeOS environment
  • Experience configuring, repairing, and administering technology devices including: laptops (Windows PCs and Chromebooks), printers, projectors, and video conference equipment
  • Experience administering Google Workspace accounts and devices, preferably using GAM or similar tools
  • Familiar with SSO Platforms and other Cybersecurity tools and best practices; knowledgeable about general IT best practices
  • Experience with Powershell and/or other scripting languages
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts
  • Ability to meet health clearance, and pass the background checks, per education code
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 35 lbs
  • Ability to travel to the Bay Area twice a year
