The Early Learning Center (ELC) and Lower Division (LD) Technology Integrator plays a vital role in the technology department by developing and encouraging the use of educational technology as a transformative teaching and learning tool. The integrator will drive the adoption of innovative and effective uses of educational technology in an environment that encourages creative and independent use of technology throughout the New York Campus and other Avenues Campuses. The position will support our faculty, staff, and students in and out of the classroom through professional development, and active participation in the teaching and learning process. The position reports to the Lead Technology Integrator and is part of the greater campus Information Systems and Technology Department that includes Technology Integration, Technology Operations, and Library & Media. Avenues Integrators also collaborate with other TIs at other Avenues campuses to teach, learn, collaborate, and align technology integration at Avenues campuses worldwide. The ELC and LD Technology Integrator works towards curricular innovation as it supports the mission of Avenues.

Technology is a cornerstone of the Avenues experience providing learning tools, assessment frameworks, communications conduits, platforms for research and innovation, pedagogical and curricular vision, as well as fundamental services to ensure the day-to-day operations of the school as a multinational organization. The Technology professionals behind this matrix of tools and services provide thoughtful, timely, and purposeful implementation, support and maintenance to ensure Avenues, as a whole, is able to serve its mission to the fullest.


The Technology Integrator’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Research, identify and model creative tools and trends in academic technology use for N–5 that support innovative teaching and learning at Avenues.
  • Research new and emerging technologies, software and hardware solutions, and their potential impact on teaching and learning.
  • Participate directly in technology-related professional development opportunities including self-study, workshops, and conferences at school, city, state, and national levels.


  • Create learning resources for teachers, staff, and students.
  • Implement a plan in conjunction with division directors, associate heads, curriculum specialists and technology department for ongoing training workshops and professional development programs for ELC and Lower Division faculty and staff.
  • Create and update creative computation curriculum, including curriculum on digital citizenship.
  • Work in partnership with the Library & Media team on Information Literacy in N-5
  • Work with Information Technology colleagues to support equipment and software deployment and iPad 1:1, Macbook Air 1:1 and Macbook/iPad 1+1 programs.


  • Attend regular divisional, grade-level, and subject-area meetings to provide support and guidance surrounding curriculum design, particularly when technology or computational thinking is involved or could enhance learning.
  • Regularly work with Division Heads, Associate Division Heads, Subject-area leads, and Heads of Grade to promote purposeful instructional use of technology, thoughtful technology-adjacent policy creation, and advocate for strong media literacy and creative computation literacy across grades.
  • Motivate and support faculty, inside and outside the classroom, in the development of projects and practices that use technology as a transformative teaching and learning tool.
  • Advise faculty, division directors, associate heads, and curriculum specialists on selecting technologies that are age-appropriate and will best contribute to the fulfillment of curriculum goals/objectives.
  • Lead and teach/co-teach technology courses and clubs as it will advance technology use by students and teachers.
  • Provide individual training opportunities for faculty, staff and students (including just-in-time user trainings), larger workshops, and outside professional development opportunities involving the integration of technology in the classroom.
  • Arrange for community outreach, including internal and external speakers and other parent education programs (evenings, coffees, Q & A sessions, etc).
  • Support and train faculty in all aspects of our learning management system and student information system.
  • Provide onboarding technology (new faculty, staff and student training (N-12)
  • Assist with basic software and hardware issues
  • Strong ability to partner/coach and support teachers and students of varying comfort levels with technology


  • Accomplished educator with 3+ years integrating technology into curriculum in grades N-5
  • Masters in Educational Technology, or related field is a strong plus
  • A strong sense of good curricular design and good pedagogy
  • Experience with MacOS, iOS, and practical knowledge of mainstream educational software applications
  • An understanding of appropriate uses of technology in the educational setting, particularly in a 1:1 learning environment
  • Familiarity or interest in coding and robotics platforms appropriate for N-5 grade levels
  • Strong ability to partner/coach and support teachers and students of varying comfort levels with technology
  • The ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other faculty, staff and school leaders
  • Well-honed ability as an innovative, results oriented, self-motivated, energetic, creative problem solver
