Education technology is increasingly fragmented across various applications, undermining utility and causing cognitive overload, frustration, and ultimately, rejection. This company recognizes this problem and is building a collaborative learning platform for K-12 educators to integrate content, curriculum, and analytics in one place.

Founded in 2015, this company has recently completed the Series B round and is looking to roughly double their size over the coming year. The team is comprised of passionate educators, designers, and developers who have a great deal of empathy for teachers that want to implement individualized and blended learning in their classrooms. Our client offers transformative tools to make learning personal, expand access to quality content, and foster community collaboration.

Position Summary:

This growing startup is looking for a Technical Sourcer who will help bring the organization’s technical sourcing work in-house. The company is rapidly expanding and needs to fill technical roles in an effective and expedient manner. They are searching for an experienced sourcer who has fluency in the technology recruiting stack and experience in developing a strong pipeline of candidates. You possess an understanding of the ecosystem of engineers in the market and have a pulse on the sites engineers choose to frequently use. You will play a pivotal role helping the organization grow with the right talent.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the multiple integral research projects, from establishing position requirements together with the hiring manager / HR, up to building and managing a pipeline of active and passive talent
  • Proactively conduct research and investigate new ideas to create innovative sourcing strategies.
  • Strong focus on sourcing passive candidates through networking, cold calling, complex internet searches and research (ex: Boolean searches on various platforms)
  • Interact with candidates on social platforms and craft recruiting emails
  • Source active candidates from on-line databases, contact lists, internal databases, and employee referrals.
  • Act as a search expert for a functional area(s) by understanding functional hiring needs, position specifications and search requirements.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to generate ideas, leverage resources and share information that facilitates an effective search process.
  • Screen candidates for availability, interest level, visa status, salary range, relocation needs, basic qualifications; present relevant ones to the hiring manager.
  • Develop talent pipelines for future hiring needs.
  • Measure conversion rates, including numbers of passive candidates who turn into applicants, get invited to interviews, get offers and get hired.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Proven work experience as a Talent / Technical Sourcer or similar role (3+ yrs).
  • Hands-on experience with sourcing techniques (e.g. recruiting on social platforms and crafting Boolean search strings).
  • Tech savvy, with a good understanding of technical terminology and deep knowledge about technology industry in general, more specifically, companies, competitors, current events, etc.
  • Familiarity with HR databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATSs) and Candidate Management Systems (CMSs).
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to take initiative and build strong productive relationships
  • Ability to generate a high volume / high quality pipeline of candidates under very tight timelines.
  • Flexibility and willingness to support multiple functions / business units.
  • Quick learner and ability to think fast, capable of understanding many different profiles.
  • Independent and self-motivated, able to perform without constant supervision.
  • Non-technical sourcing experience would be a bonus
  • Willing to handling scheduling and initial outreaches if needed
  • BSc in Human Resources Management or relevant field.
