You will report into the Technology Division which includes software engineering, infrastructure, and internal/field IT. This role is critical to help the organization achieve its ambitious goals and to fully leverage the capacity of the technology team in particular. The Technical Project Manager will be able to see their impact on a daily basis and have the chance to work with a hard-working, fun team on the front lines of reinventing the classroom.

  • Guide and coach both the technology team and stakeholders to adopt agile/scrum practices tailored to the organization’s needs
  • Partner with the project planning team to understand their goals, deadlines, and prioritization between sprint items; communicate progress and items at risk of not being completed on time to inform subsequent planning
  • Establish and implement tactical mechanisms to continuously improve efficiency of software development activities
  • Manage relationships and workstreams for our external development teams

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of software development experience
  • 2+ years of project management / scrum master experience
  • Ability to effectively manage a wide range of responsibilities and tasks that have competing priorities
  • Top-notch communication and interpersonal skills
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Natural tendency toward innovative and creative problem solving
  • Comfort working in a highly collaborative fast-paced startup environment
  • Software engineering tech savvy such that the challenges of team members can be understood and troubleshot effectively
  • Knowledge of and comfort with multiple project management methodologies (waterfall, agile, lean, scrum, kanban, etc.) and ability to adapt them to the realities of different workstreams
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) is a plus
