Technical Product Manager, Instructional Technologies - REMOTE

SEI is currently seeking a Technical Product Manager to play a role in integrating and promoting technologies that will re-shape students’ learning experiences and more broadly, impact the future of higher education and the world of work.

The primary responsibility of the Technical Product Manager is to execute and manage testing of new ed tech products within Strayer, Capella, or with SEI’s corporate partners. This individual will collaborate with business, academic, and technical stakeholders to manage the product’s overall design, implementation, and adoption. They will also collaborate with internal teams to support online students and faculty, when needed. Lastly, this individual will contribute to finding new technology and teaching approaches that improve student outcomes.

  • Executes aspects of piloting a new product, including: design; development; training; implementation; and evaluation
  • Manages a portfolio of products
  • Acts as a product advocate to build awareness and understanding for students, staff, and faculty
  • Creates content and documentation to assist with implementing ed tech tools and workflows
  • Creates content using a variety of multimedia, including infographics, video and audio, and interactive modules
  • Collaborates with technical, academic, and business teams to analyze key courseroom statistics and metrics to drive continuous improvement
  • Works in the Blackboard LMS to construct seamless learning experiences
  • Stays up-to-date on emerging learning technologies
  • Influences stakeholders to adopt alternative solutions where applicable
  • Presents usability research findings and recommendations to stakeholders to inform the next iteration of the design prior to launching


  • Fluency in Web technology, including front-end technology, back-end technology, social media, and mobile applications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum, program development, evaluation, and instructional design
  • Must be able to apply various instructional design approaches to learning content and to professionally design and implement engaging and effective teaching and learning strategies
  • Demonstrated organizational skills in handling, directing, and prioritizing multiple and complex assignments/projects and maintaining records
  • Practical experience of relevant professional disciplines, preferably instructional design, product management, web design, information architecture, web content strategy, usability and accessibility, and user experience design
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to work independently with little direction
  • Ability to communicate effectively, define problems, collect data, draw valid conclusions, and present information to a variety of stakeholders


  • 4-8 years’ experience developing e-learning, curriculum development, higher ed, and/or learning management systems
  • MS in Instructional Design & Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent
