Technical Implementation Specialist

DeansList - Remote - Full time

DeansList is hiring our first Technical Implementation Specialist. This new role will work with our Engineering, Data, and School Success teams, supporting DeansList clients with advanced configuration questions, technical needs and data and integration related issues. 

On a daily basis, you will be a…

  • Tech support expert - fielding advanced questions related to setting up and using DeansList on a day-to-day basis
  • Solution designer - understanding the capabilities of our tools (they're vast!) and working with our School Success team to recommend and implement solutions that connect the dots for our client schools
  • Data wizard - helping schools fix data issues and making sure systems are talking to each other

You'll work closely with a variety of education professionals including Principals, APs, Deans, Directors of Ops, and Data/IT leaders. This role is geared towards people who love technology and are passionate about supporting educators by helping them implement the best possible tools.


  • Intake all support tickets with a technical component including advanced configuration requests technical support issues, bug reports, etc.
  • Set up and modify school configurations based on tickets and school specs including Lists and Workflows, Data Imports, SIS integrations, cron jobs and more.
  • Work with schools to configure integrations with other systems and data imports/exports.
  • Assist with ad-hoc data cleaning and manipulation tasks.
  • Document bugs and technical issues and relay these issues to our Engineering team.
  • Create training materials and lead PD sessions on how to use DeansList's more advanced features.
  • Provide consultative support to school and district leaders on how they can take advantage of DeansList features


Ideal candidates for this role have either experience working in a school system supporting school users (possibly using DeansList) or have experience in a technical support/implementation capacity. Below are some guidelines on what we're looking for but if you think you're a good fit and don't meet these criteria we encourage you to apply anyway.

  • 2+ years experience supporting educators with technology, either in a school-based support role or on behalf of a vendor
  • Get satisfaction from finding creative solutions to difficult problems
  • Be a motivated self-starter that is comfortable multi-tasking and managing projects independently
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Advanced proficiency working with data and tools like Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
  • Experience with advanced data management tools like Tableau or PowerBI and/or languages like R, Python or SQL
  • Experience with DeansList is a big plus!


  • Annual salary between $65,000 - $95,000
