Team Lead International Content (all genders)

At sofatutor, we are convinced that children and young people best achieve their learning goals when they learn at their own pace and can access different learning media. For this purpose, our team has created a digital learning platform that makes learning possible in an individual way, anytime and anywhere. We offer students the opportunity to learn or review school material with the help of learning videos, practice problems and worksheets.

As a team lead (all genders) of our international content editorial team, you will play a key role in shaping the future of sofatutor as an international learning product.

Your Mission

You are responsible for internationalizing our successful Germany, Austria, Switzerland (also known as DACH region) content for the US and UK market. You will lead our highly motivated content writing team of eleven people and work closely with the respective project managers. This will give you an overview of our content creation processes and allow you to actively manage the team. Your tasks will include:

• Responsible for editorial content creation in the US and UK area with keeping sofatutors strategic goals in mind
• Optimize workflows to achieve target numbers of content output
• Support the project management team with technical input in the planning and implementation of projects
• Integrate the international team into the existing company organization, which was previously focused on the DACH market
• Design the cooperation within the team and further develop the required structures
• Collaborate within content creation to review and monitor the content fit for the target group of primary school students US/UK together with the project management team
• Personnel responsibility for your team of currently eleven people: lead and develop your team members and recruit new team members

Your Profile

To succeed in this role, you bring experience from editorial work, author management or the edtech industry. You are highly motivated to accompany an international team and know the challenges of an international and distributed organization. These are the other requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience creating editorial content in an educational or agency environment – ideally experience creating educational learning tools in US and/or digital guide texts and materials.
• At least 3 years of experience leading editorial teams and/or coordinating writers* in editorial content creation (including technical writing or in an agency; ideally edtech)
• Experience working in an internationally distributed remote team in different time zones
• Very good English skills (C1/C2) and ideally good German skills
