Educator for Childrens Collective

Shasta Group - Palo Alto, California - Full time

Seeking an educator for a small group of families who have decided to homeschool and shelter in together for the 2020-2021 school year.

This educator would be responsible for two age cohorts- preschool and kindergarten and would plan and execute an education program for these children in partnership with other educators. This program would be focused on outdoor education and inquiry-based learning. The families value kindness and empathy towards others as the most important quality and are looking for teachers who can guide their children through the school year with awareness and compassion.

The ideal candidate would be able to be highly flexible and adaptable to the role and be able to work with other educators and specialists. This candidate would be a team player and be prepared to lead and follow the other educators as needed. Flexibility in schedule and the ability to shelter in with the families and follow a shelter protocol is also important.

This is an opportunity to build a program from the ground up and work with other innovative educators who are interested in start-up type schools. It is also an opportunity to teach in-person for the entire school year and to build deep relationships with a small group of children and their families.

This is a full-time live-out position of 30-40 hours a week. Competitive salary according to experience, Healthcare (+dental/vision), 401K, and a housing stipend is provided.
