The Systems Engineer will be responsible for creating and maintaining scripts and applications used to automate internal processes and functions. A successful candidate will be a creative and innovative problem solver, an excellent communicator, and a strategy-minded addition to our fast-paced team.

The Systems Engineer will report to the Senior Manager, IT and work as part of the Engineering, Systems, and Products Team at Springboard. This is a great opportunity to support an entrepreneurial team in maximizing the impact of a rapidly growing organization.

Here are your priorities in the first year:

  • Maintain the functionality of the Python-based user setup automation script.
  • Expand the functionality of the above automation script to include HR systems onboarding to generate offer letters and establish account access to Springboard systems.
  • Lead the technical development and third-party integration of a new core product.

Here are your responsibilities within and beyond the first year:

  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
  • Routinely test software for bugs, redundancies, and security issues.
  • Participate in Product team meetings and discussions.
  • Draft and maintain documentation.

Here are skills and qualifications we expect the right candidate to have:

  • 3+ years of systems engineering experience with an emphasis on software development
  • Experience in API design, documentation, and testing
  • Experience with testing, integrations, and managing development workflows with Git and CI/CD.
  • Experience supporting in software deployments, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
  • Experience performing systems monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to optimize systems performance
  • Experience handling multiple projects and tasks concurrently with an emphasis on prioritization
  • Strong experience coding and writing custom automation scripts (Shell, Python), creating documentation, and managing systems
  • Experience using and coding with APIs (public, partner, internal)
  • Experience capturing, documenting, and validating design requirements, particularly from non-technical audiences
  • Experience testing and deploying software systems

It would also be nice to have:

  • Experience with the software development lifecycle and Agile software development
  • Experience in project management, application design, and integration

Compensation for this role:

Each role at Springboard is placed in a compensation band with 5 levels. Generally, we expect all candidates that meet the hiring criteria to be offered the midpoint of the band. This role sits within Band 5. The midpoint of this band is $114,000. The actual level of the successful candidate (and corresponding salary) will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, and other factors. You may also be eligible for Springboard's collective bonus program.

Our process to determine compensation:

Springboard does not negotiate the offered salary during the offer conversation. Throughout the interview process, we will evaluate your alignment with the compensable factors listed in the job description. From there, we will determine your starting salary on a level within the job band.
