Reporting to the Director, Support Services, the Support Services Advisor II will be one of three Advisors who review, approve, and disperse benefits according to policy guidelines designed to: leverage expertise from the Schmidt entities and the Rhodes Trust Partnership Programmes network; build communities of practice and foster cross-collaboration; and maximize the impact of nearly 400 Rise Global Winners as they work together to solve humanity’s most pressing problems. In this role, the Advisor will work closely with colleagues based at Schmidt Futures Projects and Hillspire in the US and at the Rhodes Trust in the UK, as well as consultants, contractors, and other service providers.
Shared Responsibilities
- Deliver an annual sequence of communications to a global audience and respond to individual inquiries in a sensitive, timely, and consistent manner
- Manage an annual caseload of Winners attending university by collecting accurate data, delivering benefits, working with Rise education partners, and issuing funding and guidance support
- Perform due diligence checks and work closely with the Finance team to disburse funds in accordance with established policies and processes
- Manage the day-to-day relationship with Rise strategic partners and seasonal consultants to deliver education, logistical, travel, and funding commitments for Winners
- Contribute to the logistical, funding, and travel support required to enable Winners to attend the 2025 Rise Residential Summit and other events
- Adhere to Rise safeguarding standards in all interactions
- Other duties as assigned
Individual Responsibilities
- Contribute to complex case management for Winners with immediate hardship needs, including funding decision-making as needed
- Lead the review of complex funding appeal submissions, including issuing guidance to Rise senior leadership
- Co-lead Winner wellbeing support including hosting calls, in-person event safeguarding, and coordinating with Rise partners as necessary

Suggested Background
- Have a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
- A willingness to work additional hours for short periods of time, as required, and to work outside of normal working hours, as required, due to time zone constraints
- Must be able to work extended hours or work weeks in support of the Rise Residential Summit and additional convenings, potentially including international travel
- Position is based in the Schmidt New York office at least three days a week, and as needed for meetings
