Strategic Partnerships Manager

BetterLesson - Cambridge, Massachusetts or Remote - Full time

BetterLesson has forged strong strategic partnerships with leading education organizations to provide coaching and professional development around the tools and services they offer to school districts. As a Strategic Partnerships Manager, you will be a critical member of BetterLesson’s Strategic Partnerships Team and broader Marketing, Partnerships, and Partner Success Teams. By working closely with the Director of Strategic Partnerships and with sales teams and leaders within BetterLesson’s strategic partner organizations, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with school and district leaders across the country in service of establishing long-term partnerships. You will manage the strategic sales process from end to end, which begins with initial conversations to determine budget, decision-making process, alignment, and goals of schools and districts in order to create custom partnership proposals, and extends through ensuring these new partners experience a smooth onboarding, strategic planning, and implementation process. You will manage these relationships throughout the first year of the partnership, and will collaborate with the Partner Success and Partnerships Teams to ensure successful service delivery and a smooth account transfer to a regional Director of Partnerships following the initial partnership term.

Responsibilities

You Will:

  • Work with our Strategic Partners’ sales teams to generate new business partnerships for BetterLesson
  • Develop a proficient understanding of Strategic Partner products (i.e. EL Education K-8 Curriculum; Newsela; Adobe Suite) and customer support priorities
  • Present BetterLesson’s model and services (unique to each Strategic Partner) to prospective school and district partners
  • Write and revise custom proposals for new or expanding partnerships
  • Manage Salesforce CRM for all owned opportunities, which includes documentation of contact roles, meeting notes, next steps, professional learning facilitation requests, and details of products purchased
  • Support the strategic planning, onboarding, and year 1 implementation for a portfolio of Strategic Partner-sourced accounts
  • Work with Director of Strategic Partnerships to strategically upsell and plan for Strategic Partnership renewals
  • Transition Strategic Partner accounts to Partnerships Team with detailed transition plans to ensure continuity of support

You Have

  • Experience in a K-12 setting (teaching, volunteer work, other)
  • Experience within the K-12 education sales market (ed tech, curriculum, professional learning)
  • A track record of proactively investigating root causes of problems and independently pursuing solutions
  • A demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, as well as balance diverse priorities diplomatically
  • Reservoirs of empathy and enthusiasm for serving educators
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • The ability and desire to work independently and thrive under deadlines
  • The ability to prioritize tasks within a fast-paced environment
