Description

Wonder Workshop is looking for a Strategic Outreach Manager in Education for the West Coast, to grow partnerships with schools and leverage their relationships to promote sales and successful implementation of Wonder Workshop products within schools. A Strategic Outreach Manager defines long-term goals for the growth in his/her assigned region, builds relationships with educators, schools, districts, government officials and organizations in education. Identify educational implementation opportunities, facilitate discussions with customers, lead educational industry discussions conduct keynotes, presentations and workshops. This person will report to the Director of Strategic Outreach in Education and work closely with the Vice President of Education, Sr. Director of Education and Business Development, Educational Resellers, and the Wonder Workshop Education Team.

Role Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and execute strategic relationships and plans to target key districts and states to drive sales of Wonder Workshop products and solutions
  • Support sales channels to ensure winning high value opportunities
  • Work with Marketing to help with strategy and program execution for educational market
  • Work with key district curriculum and technology leadership to serve as an educational strategist and educational expert for Wonder Workshop products by providing consultation on computer science and robotics program implementation
  • Recruit and manage regional cross curricular Wonder Innovation Squads, compiled of educators from assigned region
  • Author and compile case studies of ways teachers are using Dash & Dot robots in different environments to share best practices and provide real-world examples for press, sales support, etc.
  • Provides professional learning opportunities for teachers and serves as professional development consulting resource for their assigned region
  • Contribute content and assist in the management of Wonder Workshop’s Coding & Robotics professional learning network, targeting teachers and Wonder Workshop advocates
  • Identify long-term and short-term sales opportunities, focusing on sales activities that produce high growth results in both areas
  • Develop school presence by creating a high added value working relationships with high level school district leaders and government officials in education
  • Represent Wonder Workshop in industry specific conferences, tradeshows and events with presentations and keynotes
  • Create how-to videos, collateral and presentations to showcase optimized applications and use cases for products to sales channels and educational users
  • Write thought leadership articles about a variety of topics including implementing edtech in the classroom, creating makerspaces, teaching coding to elementary aged students, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Masters preferred) and 8+ years’ of experience in Education
  • Track record of providing professional learning in education; including presenting at conferences
  • Track record of building and/or selling transformational education programs that include large scale curriculum or technology adoption.
  • Ability to effectively educate stakeholders about the Education industry and knowledge of current research
  • Have a robust network of current education industry and key district relationships
  • Willingness to travel and work in a distributed team. Position will be home-office based
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude under tight deadlines
  • Ability to facilitate learning for teams of educators and internal Wonder Workshop teams
  • Strong presentation skills and presentation creation skills with a previous history of keynote presentations, speaking engagements and/or professional development workshops
  • Must be able to lift up to 70lbs
  • Must be capable of prolonged standing for 8 hours a day
  • Strong relationships with southern California schools a plus
