  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Education, Science or Tech related field
  • 5+ years working with K-8th grade children
  • 5+ years developing, leading and managing educational programs
  • Experience teaching and deep interest in science, technology, engineering, digital arts, and/or industrial design
  • Experience developing curriculum
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated leadership and staff hiring experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing a team
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams


During non-Camp months (September-May), you’ll work closely with your manager and The Tech Museum to develop the program for the upcoming summer and oversee curriculum development and/or updates. In January, you’ll join our team of Camp Directors to begin planning camp operations and to hire and train your staff.

Program development

  • Based on historical data, create and finalize key program parameters annually
  • Act as key liaison between Galileo and The Tech Museum of Innovation, developing relationships with museum staff, and participating in regular meetings to maintain stellar communication and logistics coordination
  • Manage new and existing class curriculum development and supply purchasing system
  • Work with The Tech’s and Galileo’s marketing teams to create and execute on a marketing plan

Camp operations and team management

  • Hire and support a small team of contracted curriculum developers
  • Help generate enrollment and staffing at your camp through various marketing and/or staff recruiting activities. Activities may include attending events, sending emails, calling families, or other community efforts.
  • With the People Operations team, hire top-notch staff through driving retention of previous staffers and interviewing new candidates

During Camp (June-August), Summer Camps @ The Tech run for 10 weeks, plus a prep week before camp, and wrap-up week after camp.

  • Work 55-60 hours per week, on-site and full-time, Monday-Friday for 10 weeks
  • Run daily operations of camp, creating a high energy, fun and creative experience for campers
  • Lead and manage staff, ensuring quality instruction, high energy, and overall performance
  • Communicate daily with parents
  • Manage costs, including supplies and staffing
  • Develop and maintain relationships with museum partners and ensure facility is well maintained and left in excellent condition
