Sr. Project Manager

Primary Responsibilities

As a Sr. Project Manager at BrightBytes, you'll join a growing Product, Engineering, and Professional Services team to innovate and develop new educational data products that help educators to improve student outcomes. This role requires a clear product vision, ability to execute and lead a team, and strong background in project management techniques. BrightBytes works closely with select clients to deliver solutions that sit atop the DataSense™ and Clarity® platforms. Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the solution delivery process from pre-sale through deployment.

  • Work closely with client, client success managers and development teams to define, document, sequence, develop and test client solutions
  • Provides strategic leadership and direction to the organization related to implementation project management methods, tools and processes
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Engineering, Design and Product team to ensure smooth delivery of client solution from sales to service
  • Partner with operations leadership team to improve tools, workplans, processes for software implementations
  • Drive resolution of issues through intervention and management of escalations
  • Use project portfolio management tools, executive and project dashboards, reporting and analytics to ensure predictable project success and outcomes.
  • Create the source of truth for implementation status and risks for all projects

About You

You have worked closely with various institutional clients to deliver high-quality software solutions under challenging constraints, and can do so with a smile, grace and bias toward problem solving. You care about improving the way the world learns and can empathize with clients, internal teams and users alike. You are a collaborative team player, but understand when to take charge to lead the team in accomplishing its goals.


  • 6+ years in a lead project management role on technical solutions
  • Background in public education administration (e.g., state department of education, district)
  • Strong understanding of education legislation and policy trends
  • PMP, CSM, CPMP or related project management certification
  • Ability to manage multiple teams with competing priorities
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative, fun and exciting startup environment


San Francisco preferred, though remote candidates will be considered. 25% travel may be required.
