Sr Product Manager

WHAT IS THE ROLE ABOUT?

As our new Sr. Product Manager (SPM), you will be a key individual on the Product Development team here at VHL. In collaboration with key departmental leaders and stakeholders, you will utilize your product and project management experience to enhance our market‐leading and emerging educational online products.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Work closely with counterparts in UX and Engineering, manage digital product strategy, planning, design, development and delivery of multiple VHL digital products and/or integration services.
  • Ensure that roadmap projects deliver as planned and scheduled, achieve or exceed their requirements, and meet their resourcing objectives.
  • Use data‐driven, customer‐centric product design processes and practices to bring the voice of the customer to life within VHL’s digital products.
  • Conduct or manage customer research and user testing with instructors and students, including demographics, workflow analysis, product design input and feedback, usage analytics, user acceptance testing, and market / trend analysis.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Support, and Technology leadership on strategic priorities for digital products and/or integrations with partner and customer technologies and systems.
  • Manage project schedules and budgets.
  • Participate in product lifecycle engagements, including developer standups, stakeholder feature planning meetings, UX design reviews, and engineering iteration meetings.
  • Manage feature releases and coordinate communication with customers and stakeholders.
  • Travel to (as needed/appropriate) and participate in sales/marketing customer‐facing events such as sales meetings, customer forums, and academic conferences.

YOU MUST HAVE (MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager or in a similar product management role required
  • Knowledge of product integration standards (such as IMS Global LTI, OneRoster, and/or Common Cartridge) required
  • Experience contributing to, tracking, managing and supporting executive level business strategy with an ability to translate high-level business objectives to achievable plans required
  • Experience successfully managing multiple complex projects while working towards an established goal/deadline in a fast‐paced environment required
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills required

IDEAL IF YOU HAVE or ARE (PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)

  • Advanced degree (MBA or similar)
  • Experience working with educational technology (ed-tech), online learning, language learning or similar products (highly preferred)
  • Well‐developed knowledge of accessibility, privacy and universal design standards, practices and principles
  • Familiarity with or experience using VHL products
  • Experience as a teacher or educator
  • Experience with AGILE practices and methods

LOCATION

Remote: This role is a remote role. However, our ideal candidate will reside within reasonable distance to our Boston, MA office location and be able to travel to in-person meetings there and other events as needed.
