Sr Product Designer

Education.com is seeking a Sr. Product Designer who can lead and execute on our UX and visual design strategies.

You will shape the user experience, collaborate across cross-disciplinary teams to bring our visions to life, and influence the entire Education.com experience across web and mobile experiences.

This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead UX, visual design, and information design for education-focused mobile and web products
  • Be the voice of UX and influence design thinking across the company – we want to learn from you
  • Engage with the product team throughout definition, research, analysis and synthesis
  • Jointly define research goals and identify target users
  • Work cross-functionally with design, product management, content strategy, engineering and marketing
  • Help the product team stay focused by advocating for users
  • Lead us in creating a world-class design-centric and design-principled culture
  • Have fun and help build products that help children improve their core skills

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS or MA/MS in Human-Computer Interaction, Social Computing, Human Factors, Psychology, or related social science field
  • 5+ years of web-based UX experience for consumer-facing products
  • Hands-on experience in web UX design and creation of wireframes, functional desktop, mobile, and tablet prototypes
  • Expert in designing clean, intuitive, and innovative interfaces
  • Understanding of user experience best practices, information architecture, and user testing
  • Experience being highly effective and influential presenting product design concepts with executive, engineering, product, and marketing teams
  • Lead formal and informal critiques that result in concise and actionable action plans
  • Experience using core design and prototyping tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, Invision, Balsamiq, etc…)
  • Strong mentoring and communication skills
  • Strong foundation of UX and UI principles that can be established and applied
