Sr Account Manager - Higher Ed

WHAT IS THE ROLE ABOUT?

As a Sr. Account Manager, you are truly dialed in to Higher-Ed (language learning) market needs and understand the competitive landscape which you leverage into your interactions and seek ways to elevate the customer experience. You will work closely with the Customer Success & Onboarding Manager and sales leadership to organize and execute both pre and post-sales customer support activities, assist with strategic customer acquisition and retention, and wow customers with excellent post-sale onboarding and training.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Collaborate with the Customer Success & Onboarding Manager to help shape the future of Customer Success and help ensure team activities are both aligned with departmental goals and aimed at achieving maximum sales impact
  • Provide thought partnership and leadership in order to define the “Customer Journey Map” that articulates/defines opportunities for VHL product differentiation and key customer impact
  • Partner with sales leaders and team members to build a customer onboarding and retention plan and help drive it's implementation and documentation
  • Serve as a team lead and problem solver on complex customer facing issues - collaborate with tech support, customer service and other internal departments to effectively resolve and escalate issues
  • Partner with Customer Success & Onboarding Manager to define and implement best practices for internal and external communications
  • Support the Higher-Ed sales team with a variety of pre and post-sales activities and requests including, but not limited to, prospecting and account analysis, onboarding, product training, general customer support, responding to customer inquiries and resolving customer issues
  • Partner with sales team members to engage top targets and drive new business development
  • Collaborate with the Higher Ed team to develop, coordinate and manage customer events (including event logistics coordination)
  • Manage inside-sales accounts as needed

YOU MUST HAVE (MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)

  • BA/BS degree required
  • 7+ years of experience in sales, sales support or account management required
  • 2+ years of experience in educational publishing within the Higher Education market required
  • CRM experience (such as Salesforce.com) required
  • Strong relationship building, interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel (about 15%) required

IDEAL IF YOU HAVE or ARE (PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)

  • Experience using Salesforce.com
  • Familiarity with VHL products
  • A solution oriented problem solver and expert collaborator and proactively communicating to ensure milestones are met
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit, sense of urgency, high energy level and ability to pivot quickly to changes
  • A deep knowledge of Higher Education, market trends and competitive landscape
  • Eager to take on new opportunities and tough challenges
  • Experience coordinating customer events, managing event logistics, maintaining oversight of details and timelines
  • Experience managing budgets and working within budgetary constraints
  • Experience coaching others

LOCATION = Remote: This position is 100% remote and requires a willingness to travel throughout the US to customer locations, events and team meetings as needed without restriction. Candidates must reside in the United States and meet this requirement in order to be considered.
