Sponsored Content Director

EdSurge - Multiple Locations - Full time

EdSurge, the leading source for edtech news, research and events, is looking for a Director to lead our Sponsored Content team and play a pivotal role in the growth of the business.

We’re looking for a creative person who has digital marketing expertise as well as storytelling experience across multiple mediums and an ability to develop a compelling vision. This person should have led and managed content teams at other media organizations or in a marketing capacity within education. Ideally this person is passionate about education and has a deep understanding of EdSurge’s diverse audience of educators and edtech companies. The team is small, which means this role is for someone who loves the idea of being a “player-coach.” This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of a dynamic, entrepreneurial team within a mission-driven, ambitious start-up.

In this job you will:

  • Lead a small, entrepreneurial content team that is critical to the growth of EdSurge
  • Shape the development and iteration of a client-based Sponsored Content strategy at EdSurge
  • Maintain and build diverse customer relationships
  • Devise and pitch creative content marketing campaigns to companies trying to reach edtech buyers and users
  • Find ways to improve existing products and develop new sponsored content products with a cross-functional team
  • Create and manage the creation of original content across a diversity of mediums including articles, infographics, webinars, etc.
  • Liaise between Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Product to ensure we are coordinated in providing a great customer experience
  • Review and analyze the performance of sponsored content projects for continuous improvement
  • Be an integral part of an ambitious, fun and close-knit team within a mission-driven start-up

  • You have 5+ years of professional experience leading content teams in media organization or in a marketing function
