Spanish K-5 Curriculum Specialist

We are looking for a nimble, creative, and organized Curriculum Specialist to join our growing product development team. This role will support the development of ASU’s elementary line of next generation of learning products for ASU Prep Digital and ASU Preparatory Academy, specifically the Learning Cloud product suite. Serving as the expert in content, standards, assessments, innovation, and storyboarding, the Curriculum Specialist will design from a whole product knowledge base.

The Curriculum Specialist collaborates with a Curriculum Writer and the Digital Product Architect in the preparation, design, and development of digital content and assessments for specific subject area(s). The Curriculum Specialist assists in reviewing content and assessments, and works with vendors to create quality learning experiences. The Curriculum Specialist maintains regular contact with the Arizona Department of Education and additional agencies to remain knowledgeable with standards and current K12 educational issues.

The Curriculum Specialist is responsible for the course curriculum development of digital products. This position will focus on both the quality and compliance of K-5 online course curriculum as well as managing the timeline for development and deployment of products.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design or related field, Masters preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in K-5 Online Curriculum Development
• Valid Teaching Certificate in subject area, any state acceptable
• Experience with the state and national standards in academic and social-emotional learning essential
• Three (3) years minimum experience as an educator in specified subject area and grade level
• Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and development of digital content and assessments

• Construct and outline lessons and assessments aligned with state standards with a focus on Discovery Learning and Universal Design Learning

• Design and development content and assessments that align to state and national standards
• Design and development of content and assessments that prepare students for high stakes testing
• Ongoing review of content and assessments created by content writers, making strategic recommendations for quality products
• Work directly with leadership to coordinate timelines and deliverables for digital course curriculum as well as manage curriculum timelines
• Initiate strategies to maintain project scope and prevent scope creep

• Curate a product that is differentiated and personalized to meet the needs of all learners

• Work with curriculum developers in best practices of online curriculum development and design
• Outline course content to reflect inclusivity and align with DEI (Diversity Equity Inclusion) principle
• Lead curriculum implementation to online platforms, while ensuring alignment to standards
• Create innovative and engaging learning experiences
• Work collaboratively with Product team members
• Review and identify vendors that provide quality content and/or assets
• Must maintain efficiency by meeting deliverable timelines, schedule and coordinate meetings, utilize resources, and communicate with respect
