This is an in office position, which would require 5 days a week in the CodeHS Chicago office at 747 N LaSalle in River North.

Social Media Content Creator Job Description

CodeHS is looking for a Social Media Content Creator who can effectively develop and implement content across our social channels to support company wide initiatives and metrics. Key channels include Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.

This role will be creating content across our social media channels to engage educators and students to help build up the CodeHS brand and promote computer science education.

You’re a great match for this role if you are creative, high energy, curious and looking to learn. Computer science/coding experience isn’t required but if you do have that experience let us know!

Responsibilities

  • Create fun, engaging content for social media channels, including text posts, images, videos, and graphics.
  • Manage all social media channels including TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Help build up the followings and track metrics across social channels
  • Create daily content for Instagram/TikTok/Twitter
  • Learn about CodeHS product and customers and curriculum.
  • If you don’t have coding experience, you’ll get to share your experience learning to program.
  • Develop and implement a social media strategy aligned with the company's goals and target audience
  • Maintain a content calendar to plan and organize social media posts
  • Plan and schedule social media posts using social media management tools to maintain a consistent and active online presence
  • Monitor social media accounts, respond to comments, messages, and mentions promptly, and engage with the audience to build community
  • Identify and engage with influencers or partners in the education space to expand the company's reach and credibility.
  • Track key social media metrics (e.g., engagement rates, follower growth) and provide regular reports to assess the performance of social media efforts and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with other members of the marketing team and company to ensure a coordinated approach to content

Requirements

  • Exceptional at creating high-quality, engaging video content for social media
  • Proficient in Canva or other design platforms like Photoshop / In Design
  • Creative thinker with an eye for design - Ability to step outside the box and experiment with new forms of content
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Excellent cross-team collaboration skills
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Work well independently and autonomously, a self-starter
  • Energized by working with educators to capture their stories and classrooms
