Senior QA Analyst

Location: Flexible (Boston, MA or East Coast preferred)

THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Senior QA Analyst, you will have the opportunity to drive critical QA efforts across teams to ensure that we deliver quality technical products. The Senior QA Analyst will be responsible for owning our QA strategies and procedures. To do this, the successful candidate will work to develop a deep understanding of our internal and external applications, internalizing & documenting cross-dependencies, and engaging with stakeholders to create, document, and execute effective regression testing strategies as well as functional testing strategies for new features. The Senior QA Analyst will leverage a combination of strong hands-on testing, relationship-building skills, and delegation where possible to motivated stakeholders in order to manage the execution of testing plans to facilitate timely deploys.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Take ownership of coordinating QA efforts across cross-functional teams
  • Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, and Program Operations to ensure effective, efficient, and well-documented testing strategies and procedures that can be easily delegated
  • Develop and execute test scenarios; define & hold teams accountable for well-documented test cases for new features
  • Review results for conformance to requirements
  • Track time spent on tests; review & revise testing strategies to maximize ROI; recommend investments in automation of specific high-value test cases to Engineering
  • Find & report bugs and take ownership of issue resolution
  • Reproduce and document defects, assesses impact to customer
  • Assist in the confirmation of problems reported and assist Engineering staff in understanding problems and desired resolution
  • Mentor other staff engaged in QA efforts
  • Engage with team members to achieve product delivery goals

WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU BRING

In order to be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following:

  • You are passionate about the power of Quality Assurance to increase efficiency and quality of software products
  • You have 7+ years of deep, hands-on experience with QA
  • You have developed strategies and executed system test plans for web applications
  • You have demonstrable experience creating QA procedures and strategies, developing buy-in for this strategy from cross-departmental stakeholders, and managing work across teams to execute on these procedures & strategies
  • You have previous experience or domain knowledge in education and have a passion for achieving educational equity in the United States

Ideal candidates may also demonstrate the following preferred qualifications:

  • You have previously been an active contributor to successfully maturing a QA team to meet the needs of a growing organization
  • You have previous experience coordinating QA with integrated 3rd party platforms
  • You have management experience
  • You have experience with automated test tools, and can make recommendations to forward an automated testing strategy
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree
