The Educator Engineering team at Lexia Learning, a Cambium Learning Group company, is growing fast as we continue to expand our family of products for learners and educators.

As a Senior Software Engineer at Lexia Learning, you will join a team of skilled Engineers to support and expand our authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML and LDAP). As we modernize and re-imagine our automated rostering and SSO integrations you will have the opportunity to mentor other engineers and enhance your own skills in this area.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively as part of an agile team to enhance and maintain our rostering integrations with Clever, OneRoster, ClassLink, Google, and others.
  • Design and develop new integrations for automated rostering, SSO authentication and other emerging educational technologies.
  • Create and enhance ETL processes to manage our educational content imports.
  • Demonstrate confidence and pride in the quality, performance and security of the designs and code you deliver.
  • Display an appropriate sense of urgency to deliver planned work and resolve blocking issues.

Job Requirements:

  • 7+ years experience designing and coding for production applications using PHP or other OO language and relational database systems.
  • Solid foundation in object-oriented programming principles and practices
  • Experience integrating authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth, SAML, LDAP) with SAS applications.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of design patterns and data structures
  • Skilled in the use of cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google)
  • Experience creating and analyzing SQL queries for relational databases
  • Deep understanding of Git or other distributed version control systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to mentor new hires and junior developers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience working with SIS /LMS systems
  • Experience using Laravel, Node.js or other backend frameworks
  • Familiar with Jira and Bamboo or CI tools
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field
