Senior Software Engineer, Emmersion (American Fork, UT)

IXL Learning, a leading edtech company with products used by 14 million students worldwide, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer who has a passion for technology and language learning to join our Emmersion team.

Emmersion is on a mission to close the global communication gap. We’re doing this by building an adaptive language assessment and learning engine that is affordable, reliable, and saves our customers time. Our customers use our assessments to make hiring and placement decisions for multilingual professionals and language-learners. We create innovative assessments and tools that ensure our customers’ test-takers are being accurately assessed on their language ability and that our customers are able to make confident evidence-based decisions.

You will be on a team that consists of engineers, a product manager, and a user experience designer. You’ll report to Emmersion’s Director of Engineering, who works closely with product leadership to ensure the team has a clear understanding of Emmersion and IXL Learning’s product vision and strategy, and that they have opportunities to grow in their career.*This is a full-time position in our American Fork, UT office with a hybrid work schedule.*

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Build automated language assessments to help individuals and companies certify language ability
• Work full-stack using C# & .NET, TypeScript & Angular, cloud hosting in Azure, with message based communication, and SQL technologies
• Participate in problem discovery, solution design, and continuously deliver value to production
• Work in a team mob programming environment (see https://www.remotemobprogramming.org/)
