We continue to grow at an elevated pace and are seeking an additional Senior Sales Executive with relevant EdTech experience to augment our team. The Senior Sales Executive will work within our Search and Discovery product lines and will lead our sales development efforts to content and curriculum creators and publishers in the Western half of the United States. This position will report directly to the Executive Vice President of Sales and will also work closely with our Chief Solutions Strategist in crafting messages and creating sales strategies to win new customers. The ideal candidate will be someone whose experience in education enables them to understand and speak to the problem we are solving for educators in the content and publishing market, while their sales background gives them the ability to create, develop, and close new opportunities with new product initiatives.

This position is to be located in a virtual home office in the United States or in our Wakefield, MA, Cincinnati, OH or Austin, TX offices.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Create, develop, manage and close sales to content and curriculum creators and publishers and education software vendors for Certica’s metadata product line for the Western U.S.;
  • Upsell to existing customers and maintain account management for new customers after sold and/or implemented;
  • Quickly develop relationships with key stakeholders at prospects;
  • Communicate the vision for potential customers of the value and return of the metadata solutions;
  • Sales driven primarily through web interactions and phone with the ability to travel to potential clients as needed up to 25%; and
  • Travel to 5 or 6 conferences per year as needed

Skills and Professional Experience:

  • Practical experience in education (educator, literacy coach, librarian, curriculum buyer, professional development facilitator) or publishing;
  • Sales experience a must; at a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company preferred;
  • Excellent ability to influence key stakeholders throughout a prospect’s organization;
  • Capable of thinking strategically and creatively while also executing quickly and pragmatically;
  • Ability to creatively and thoughtfully solve problems;
  • Solid in-person customer-facing skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both internally and externally with customers;
  • Significant experience using Microsoft Office products to produce proposals, presentations and pricing ROI models to demonstrate product value to prospects;
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking ability;
  • Experience using Salesforce is highly desirable;
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
